The
Talking Moose is an old
extension created long ago for the
Macintosh by M. Uli Kusterer. Basically, a
cartoon moose head would
pop up in the corner of your
screen every few minutes or few hours and speak some
random phrase in its
vocabulary; you could add your own phrases if you
felt like it.
The Moose has been updated since those early days of System 6 to work with the current MacOS, and has gained a couple new faces in the process. Pointless and fun for those times when Windows 3.1 was merely pointless.
