The Rainbow Bridge is a
suspension bridge connecting the
artificial island Odaiba, a business and entertainment district, with the city of
Tokyo. It carries the
Yurikamome rail line as well as road traffic and even a pedestrian walkway. The bridge was completed in August 1993 by
Kawasaki Heavy Industries and spans 570 meters between its main
pylons, which are 125.6 and 124 meters high.
The bridge is floodlit colorfully at night while during the day, the 30 minute walk across offers a unique view of Tokyo's seaside.
