An appalling happy hardcore 12" from Belgian one hit wonder L.A. Style. Released in 1991 by Arista Records, arguably it became the first "rave" single to enter the US Billboard charts. Although electronic music such as M.A.R.R.S.' Pump Up The Volume had already garnered mainstream support outside of the US, prior to 1991 house music tended to stay within the underground scene.
Despite it's limited crossover success, it spawned multiple copycats that played on the song's title with complete disregard for subtlety, including; James Brown is Still Alive and James Brown is Queer. Thankfully, the original single contained no sampling from the Godfather of Soul himself, who was still alive and kicking.
