Coined phrase for two groups of people:

• The perennial clique of the avant garde, wearing black and sipping lattes at the campus bookstore cafe.

• The goths and the fledgling kinderbats, those youngsters who more identify with Anne Rice's the Vampire Lestat than with anything their mother ever told them.
