Skamania County is a county located in Washington state, on the north side of the Columbia River. It has a small population, currently estimated around 12,000 people, but due to its location to the east of Clark County, it is considered to be part of the Portland Metropolitan Region. The county is quite large and diverse in terrain, and includes the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, much of Mount Adams, the cone of Mt. St. Helens, and the Bonneville Dam on the Columbia River. Almost all of the population live in a series of towns located along the north side of the river, including the county seat, Stevenson. It is also located along the scenic Columbia River Gorge, and so is often visited by people in the Portland area looking to take a fun day trip to somewhere scenic, and sometimes with marginally less cloudy weather.

Also, sadly, no one has yet to host a music festival here called "Ska Mania", but hopefully they will at some point.
