I made David Sedaris laugh tonight.
Now, I'm not saying I was being particularly brilliant or that we'll end up writing plays together or anything like that, but...the man is one of my Radio Heroes. I grew up with his writing, followed his new stories so closely that his new book (Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim) was so familiar I found myself unintentionally skimming it.
I made one of my radio heroes laugh tonight, and it felt really, really good.
He signed my copy of his new book this way: "To Jack: Thanks for making me rich."
Some day, I'll send him a copy of my book, signed: "To David: You're welcome."
