Maximal sum of products is a term used in
digital logic to make it easier to turn a
binary set of conditions into a simplified formula that is easier to create a set of
and gates and
or gates for a circuit to produce the desired
output for each set of conditions.
Minimal product of sums can also be used in this manner.
