Canine parvo virus (CPV) is very contagious disease which spreads from dog to dog via an infected dog’s crap. Dogs confined to the house or yard will probably never contract it. It is more common amongst pets who are allowed to run wild or come in contact with infected dogs. It can also be caught from non-cannids or people who've had physical contact with the virus.

Symptoms of infection include vomiting, diarrhea, depression and loss of appetite. Treatment should be sought quickly since death usually occurs within 2 or 3 days of the symptoms.
