The 1611 King James translation of the Bible is considered one of the most influential English-language documents of all time. It was NOT the first book ever printed on Gutenberg's printing press; that's the Mainz Bible; nor was it the first English translation of the Bible, that's the Wyclif Bible of the 1380s. KJV is a Protestant Bible; different Catholic churches (Eastern Orthodox, Roman, etc.) have their own variant Bibles.
