A barn door is a an accessory which goes on the front of a
theatre lighting instrument which has two big doors, a la
barns, plus two little doors. It is used on instruments such as
fresnels to block light spill from hitting
undesireable areas. It aslo serves a purpose of blocking dreaded
light spill.
