Every year Time Magazine decides on the person who generates the most news in the past 12 months. Ayatollah Khomeni won that distinction in 1979. 'The Computer' won it in 1982. For that year, as Centrex has observed, the title was changed to "Machine of the Year". The title of the award was not changed from "Man of the Year" to "Person of the Year" until 1999.
