Scottish single malt whisky (
Speyside)
The Knockdhu (“Black hill” in Gaelic) distillery was founded in 1893 by Haig’s. The high quality single malt named after the distillery used to be a rarity, since most of the production went to blends. In 1988 Inver House Ltd bought the distillery and started distributing the whisky using the name “An Cnoc”, bottled at 12 years old.
Tasting notes:
This is one of the best “all-round” single malts in my opinion. Far from being bland or boring, its wide range of taste and smell makes it a whisky for almost any occasion.
