Son of Latin-Jazz percussionist Willie Bobo, Eric Bobo's (he's Puerto Rican if you're wondering) main musical home is Cypress Hill. Although technically a timbales player, he is more known (in mainstream music) for his mastery of the bongos and congas. They can be heard in the incredibly chill album The In Sound From Way Out by the Beastie Boys (hence the song entitled Bobo on the Corner). He also appears on Ill Communication and Hello Nasty as well as with the Black Crows and 311.
And yes, he is in favor of the
decriminalization of
marijuana.
