The
KDE League is a group of
developers and
manufacturers who have decided to throw their weight behind the K Desktop Environment (
KDE) for
Linux. The KDE League was announced at
COMDEX in
Las Vegas, 2000.
Members include Compaq, Corel, SuSE (my favorite distro), MandrakeSoft, TrollTech, Borland, Caldera, IBM, HP, and Fujitsu-Siemens Computers.
The League has no technical development duties. The KDE League was formed for marketing and promotional issues, whereas the GNOME Foundation has a committee for development of the GNOME desktop environment.
