Except how long we've been together, this sounds like Tregoweth and me. My best friend for nine years, my boyfriend for slightly over two years, my roommate for slightly less than two years. So, although the plural of anecdote is not data, in my experience this is a profile of a relationship that continues to work at least this long and with no sign of flagging. I hope that's encouraging. Even when one can stand alone, it's nice to have someone who one could lean on if necessary.
