Martin Luther King Jr. She met Martin after graduating from Antioch College in Ohio.
After the assassination of MLK Jr. in 1968, she founded the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change in Atlanta, Georgia. The following year she published a memoir, My Life with Martin Luther King, Jr. and established the Coretta Scott King Award to honour a African American authors of children's books.
