Here’s a recipe for a cool but rich summer drink that’s at least semi-legal for us low-carb dieters and diabetics:

Ingredients

  • 4 chai tea bags
  • 4 packets Splenda or other calorie-free sweetener
  • 1 pint (600 ml.) water
  • 1 pint (600 ml.) low-carb milk (The one I buy is called Carb Countdown)
  • 1/3 cup (80 ml.) heavy cream (heavy cream has fewer carbs than light cream)

Heat the water, and steep the tea bags for 5 to 10 minutes. Add the other ingredients to the hot tea. Put some ice in tall glasses and pour in your chai.
