Hanya is a
member of the
Oniwa Banshu. His
tattoos on his arms (
horizontal stripes) make his arms appear
shorter than they actually are, causing his
opponents to misjudge his range. He fights Kenshin and loses, but later dies
nobly in order to save Kenshin and his boss,
Aoshi Shinomori, from a
gatling gun.
