Collective term for the
Leeward Islands, the
Windward Islands,
Barbados,
Trinidad and Tobago, the
Netherlands Antilles, and anything else in the
Caribbean Sea too tiny to be a part of the
Greater Antilles.
Includes a wide variety of colonial territories and independent states. When inhabited, it's generally by some odd combination of the extremely rich and extremely poor.
