Chrys"o*ber`yl (?), n. [L. chrysoberyllus, Gr. ; gold + beryl.] Min.
A mineral, found in crystals, of a yellow to green or brown color, and consisting of aluminia and glucina. It is very hard, and is often used as a gem.
