Pistis Sophia is also the name of a Gnostic text, in which Jesus Christ tells the story to his disciples and Mary Magdaline of how he saved Pistis Sophia.
In the story, Pistis Sophia basically stops doing her job in the 8th heaven because she is very much interested in the Being of Light instead. Her heavenly buddies get pissed and trick her into leaving heaven without her escorts of light, they then trap her in the abyss and Jesus saves the day. Jesus Christ of course being from the Being of Light.
