There was a time she was everywhere
Hovering about their orbit
Flitting from here to there
Smiles and eyes sparkling
Their words in her ears-sizzling

Now their words are stored in her memory
And pressed between pages in worn leather, bound
She doesn't hear them in the night sky anymore
Yet she sits legs crossed in the tall soft grass
And quietly, she waits
