The Sea And Cake consists of a rotating membership of Chicago post-rock fellows but always includes Sam Prekop, Archer Prewitt, Eric Claridge, and John McEntire. Guest Musicians have included Casey Rice, Jim O'Rourke, and Bundy K. Brown. flamingweasel's description of their sound is pretty accurate, however lately they have done completely drumless albums which are somewhat more electronic than usual. They are completing their fifth album to be released on Thrill Jockey Records in the fall of 2000. It is as yet untitled.
The Sea And Cake got their name from a Gastr Del Sol song on Crookt, Crackt, Or Fly entitled "The C In Cake."
