Christmas Poem 2013 (poetry)

Pagans: thanks for the Evergreen,
With Mistletoe and Snowmen seen.
Santa was okay as Saint Nick,
However, ads became too slick.
Business is good when giving jobs,
But not when deep meaning it robs.

Why does a babe scare people so?
To their inner heart makes them go.
The Wise Men are doubted anew,
Spirit of Herod still comes through.
A King of Kindness still has commands,
Said they were far lesser demands.

Did the same nails build the manger?
That put the Son of Man in danger.
Unlike Joseph and Mary’s plans,
Jesus let them in His hands.
Mary, blessed as the holy vessel,
To gift God’s Son’s birth and nestle.
