This book tells the story of the International Diamond Security Organization, formed in 1954, disbanded in 1957. It is plainly written, compiled by Fleming in a week of interviews. Fascinating.
One of the interesting things about this book from a 21st century perspective is the matter-of-fact racism of the diamond mine owners and their employees. Early on, the narrator comments about the frequent x-rays and radioactivated diamonds with geiger counters at the turnstiles used to discorage pilferage.
