Tomorrow's newspaper will arrive
before dawn,
left on the sidewalk
wrapped in a white plastic sleeve
It will contain the usual details:
local events, sports and business,
comics, which she laughs at (I do not)
as well as
obituaries,
which I do enjoy.
It brings with it a brief history of yesterday mixed with
wild predictions:
astrology, weather and the stock market.
Tomorrow's paper will arrive
before dawn,
left outside my apartment,
outside her house
waiting to be read by us both
with no mention of our separate lives.
