Ah,  dear girl  I wish I could sing you a lullabye

but my voice, it cannot find the right notes 

Instead let me tell you a story

one of heroes and hope

It will start slow, rise to a climax and of course

flow into the happy ending we both need  

Ah, dear girl I wish I could sing you to sleep

close your eyes anyway,  dream of knights and princesses 

Let the problems of the real world fade from your eyelids

let the wolves sleep
