Βηλος
One of Poseidon's twin sons by the Nymph Libya. The other twin was Agenor (Table 3) and while the latter went to Syria, Belus remained in Egypt, where he was king and married Anchinoe, the daughter of the god Nile. He had twin sons, Egyptus and Danaus and in occasional refernces is said to have fathered Cepheus and Phineus. Writers also note a number of Assyrian and Babylonian heroes of this name; one of these found a place in the genealogy of Queen Dido of Carthage.
