One of the things I appreciate
about
others who dress well
is the pleasing feeling I get
when I gaze upon them.
The other day I was telling
a friend of mine about
this book I had read, it
was written by a woman
named Carol Tuttle, I had
heard her speak years ago.
The book is called
Dressing Your Truth
I use it when I talk
to people about their
footwear, as I believe
that building a wardrobe
makes more sense than
randomly picking out
items you like when
you are
shopping
.
Looking and feeling
your personal best
requires a plan. There
are people who want
to look better, and those
who are offended when
you suggest that perhaps
they would be better off
trying a strategy that
works better for them
.
My philosophy is simple,
focus on what you like,
share those insights and
compliments with people
when you notice what
they are doing well. It's
worked well for me in
the past. People receive
the positive affirmation
and praise and behavior changes.
This doesn't always work
,
take an isolated incident,
I once asked a guy if anyone
else had told him that he
looked scrumptious in black.
Powerful would have been a
better word choice. He looked
sublime, delectable, good enough to
eat, perhaps I can be
forgiven
.
Carol's idea is that people
have energy that expresses
itself in specific ways, rather
than an exact or precise
system she recognizes that
we all have a degree of
each energy type, but will
lead with a specific one.
Type one is airy, type two
flows, type three erupts,
Type four is still. She says
these people are frequently
misunderstood, unlikely to
subscribe to her system,
for they are their own
authority and do not change
quickly. The next time I saw
the black shirt it was an
accidental encounter.
Ironically,
I was also in black
