In a
biological sense, kinesis is an
undirected change in the
speed of an animal's movement in response to
stimuli. This usually means that an
animal will move
slowly through a favorable
environment and move
quickly through an unfavorable
environment. The
net effect is that the
animal spends more time in favorable
environments, and less time in unfavorable
environments.
