The
Cub Scout motto is "
Do Your Best".
Strongly related to the concept of "It's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game." Cub Scouts are encouraged to live the motto in everything that they do, not just their scouting activities.
Likewise, one scout's "best" is quite different from another scout's. It is important to encourage children to surpass their "personal best" and not worry about winning all the time, or about comparing themselves to others. The Cub Scout motto attempts to teach this precept to young scouts.
Tiger Cubs, which is the yougest level of Cub Scouting, have their own motto: Search, Discover, Share.
