"Kylie" is a popular female given name in English-speaking countries, either as a feminine version of the male given name "Kyle," or as an Australian Aboriginal word meaning "curved" and used as a synonym for "boomerang."

In the United States, the use of the name "Kylie" for baby girls peaked in 2004, when it was the 49th most common name for newborn girls. In 2009, it was still the 61st most common given name for girls. The name is a fairly recent phenomenon, only first appearing in the top 1000 girls names in the US in 1978.
