Any number of
hours worked beyond what you are
expected to in a given
day or
week. Overtime
pay is a
Good Thing, but overtime work is
not. The real trick is to be able to
maximize the
former while
minimizing the
latter.
People who get paid a salary or are paid per-project generally don't get overtime pay, whether they work it or not. These people are to be pitied, unless they're so rich and successful that they never work forty hours a week anyways, in which case they're elitist snobs who think they're better than the rest of us working stiffs, they ought to come down here and work a shift like everyone else, the jerks.
