A
peninsula on
Nantucket,
MA,
USA. It is a sandy strip of land, less than 500 meters across, ending in slightly larger bulge which actually has some vegatation. On the eastern side is the
Atlantic Ocean and on the western is
Nantucket Sound. The
rips off Great Point are a great place to
fish, especially for
bluefish. As there are no roads, access is either via
boat or by driving down the beach in a
4x4 (which requires a permit).
Also the name of the lighthouse located there.
