Aside from playing
standard Marty software, the Car Marty also came
included with a
GPS module and related
Navisoft software (developed by
Naviken), enabling you to find your way around
Japan's
mega-crowded cities. Two
ports on the front allowed you to connect one Marty
gamepad or
mouse (actually more of a
tethered remote control-type device for navigating the menus), with
keyboard,
microphone (for
car karaoke?) and
external floppy drive connectors on the back.
What the Car Marty had that the home Marty didn't was a special slot for GPS map cards right below the CD slot, which (as you could probably guess) were preloaded with maps from various regions of the country. There was also some sort of door on top of the unit that's slightly smaller than a cassette tape and that I haven't found a purpose for yet.
