computer go (thing)

compared to computer chess, computers are really bad at go. There are lots of contributing factors:

• no easy board evaluation function as there is in chess - counting the points on the board is really difficult.
• nothing analagous to checkmate
• an order of magnitude more possible moves every turn, so brute force isn't as useful

People should be proud to have created a game humans are better at than computers. I suspect that go takes advantage of lots of specialized human brain hardware, such as pattern recognition and language.
