A watched Roman never boils.
(- He does it in secret.
Really.)
There's this big, ole sign in the middle of the city that says:
"WHEN IN ROME, NEVER BOIL"
In tall, very noticeable letters.
...But in all honesty
Everybody
Does it there -
Just when no one is looking.
Watching.
They say that
Dead men tell too many red-handed chickens to spoil the soup
When witnessed water starts to bubble.
That is why most Romans act as if they are
Walking on
Spilled milk
All the time:
They know that they should
Save their eggshells for a
Greased lightning
Rainy day.
Because on those days.
No one is looking
And they can boil all they want.
But remember:
Don't count your chefs before they
Do as the Romans
Or you'll wind up with
Cold,
Spoiled,
Eggshell
Soup.
