Apple's "World Wide Developer Conference". You get to pay $1000 (or get your company to pay), spend a week in San Jose, play Unreal Tournament on a bevy of G4s, listen to smart people talk about MacOS X, WebObjects, Carbon, Cocoa, Java 2, and other really interesting stuff. Then they feed you fancy cordon bleu food at lunch time and fruit rollups in the afternoon.

Also of note at WWDC 2000: Several Airport basestations were installed through the San Jose Conference Centre. This allowed anyone with an Airport equipped Laptop to connect to the internet. Airport was switched off during Steve Job's keynote speech.
