The following is a catalog of all the carriers in operation today. Most are V/STOL carriers, as opposed to carrying fixed wing aircraft. The home ports are included where I have been able to find them.

This list is subject to change in the near future. China is known to be working on manufacturing or procuring aircraft carriers for its navy, and both India and Pakistan are beefing up their fleets at this writing.

The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics had six carriers in its fleet at the time of its demise. Five of these have been decommissioned and scrapped: the last one remaining is the fixed wing Admiral Flota Svetskogo Soyuza Kuznetsov (Severmorsk).
