Minor Internet software company that, once upon a time, held claim to being the first-ever Internet Service Provider. (I'm not sure that was true, but they were close.) That was back in the mid-'80s, before the masses discovered the Net. Home to my first non-university Net account, and very much missed.

Portal dropped its ISP service in 1994 to write billing software for other ISPs. Went public in May 1999.
