The phrase "Daily driver" may have originated with motor car usage in the US, but its use has expanded to mean some tool or mechanism you favour using on a daily or regular basis.

As an example, my computer daily driver is a Dell Latitude laptop, my coffee maker is a Bialetti Moka Express. My browser of choice is Mozilla Firefox, so in a conversation about browsers I would say that "my daily driver is Firefox".

Its become a way of stating preference in all sorts of endeavours, not just running to the shops or getting to work. That said, in that sense, my daily driver is a 2004 Honda Civic! My daily driver coffee is an excellent decaf from a local roaster.

P.S.. Not one of my daily drivers of anything are made by Sony.

Not to be confused with Baby Driver, either the song or the film.
