Aristoltle's theory of the universe, basicaly that the heavenly spheres, concentric circles like the layers in an onion, are all revolving around and drawn toward the Unmoved Mover(as the name suggests the Unmoved Mover moves things but remains itself unmoved). This God-type-thing is like the life force that causes all the inanimate matter to form patterns and approach perfection.

Apparently philosophers who become finely attuned to the way of things can strain their ears and hear the heavenly music the spheres make as they rub against each other, aaaah...sounds lovely. Other images that come to mind, although Aristotle didn't put it like this himself: the Unmoved Mover as the plastic wheel that makes the spyrograph patters, fractals as in chaos theory.
