From
Zen Buddhism, there comes a concept which can be applied to all of life (well, that's what
Zen is, anyway).
Beginner's mind is the way that someone with a newfound interest approaches this thing, as opposed to an 'expert'. One must strive every day to retain their beginner's mind, and not to become jaded by experience.
One who possesses beginner's mind is curious.
One who possesses beginner's mind is eager to learn.
One who possesses beginner's mind is excited.
One who possesses beginner's mind celebrates each new insight.
One who possesses beginner's mind is glad to help others.
One who possesses beginner's mind is not afraid to know more.
One who possesses beginner's mind is refreshed every day.
One who possesses beginner's mind is has an insatiable appetite for learning.
One who possesses beginner's mind is full of the joy of the Dharma.
One who possesses beginner's mind possesses the mind of a Buddha.
