MOS Technologies, Pennsylvania-based chip company was bought by Commodore in 1976 and later renamed to CSG, the Commodore Semiconductor Group. CSG served as an in-house chip design and R&D unit until Commodore's bankruptcy in 1994. The best known CSG design is propably the 6500 processor family used in many 80's computers like the VIC 20 and Commodore 64.
