A Mac OS program (part of the system software) which allows the user to switch printers, mount other drives over a network, and turn features such as AppleTalk or background printing on or off. Revolutionary in the 80s, but now an annoyance, one of the most inefficient parts of the Macintosh operating system. Luckily, the Chooser will be destroyed and replaced by more modern features in Mac OS X.

Choos"er (?), n.

One who chooses; one who has the power or right of choosing; an elector.

Burke.
