In
white supremacist belief, the day when perceived
traitors against the
white race will be dragged from their homes and summarily hanged. It is described in chilling detail in the
racist novel
The Turner Diaries. In it, the "guilty" are strung up en masse with one of two pre-printed placards around their necks: "I defiled my race" (for those who intermarried with non-whites) or "I betrayed my race" (for politicians, educators, civic leaders, and others who are part of
the system).
In the novel, the Day of the Rope is given as August 1, 1993.
