Also known as DiBella's Old-Fashioned Submarines. A phenomenal sub shop (now a chain of sub shops) in Rochester, New York. They hand-bake their sub rolls daily, and they are the key to the excellent sandwiches. The serving style is unique and often confusing to first-timers, but unfortunately difficult to describe in text. Basically, when you're in line, you have to listen carefully, because a whole row of sub-makers is standing there, and you have to watch for the next available one to raise his/her hand and say 'NEXT!'

Anyway, the various DiBella's restaurants are extremely popular and very busy, particularly around lunchtime. Now that they've extended their hours, they're also busy at supper time. Taking visitors to Rochester to DiBella's is a rare treat, both for the visitors and for the host.
