A favorite of the
artists and
poets who go to marvel
over it's
dramatic beauty,
Folegandros is small and can fill up in the tourist
season. The
Chora is perched high in the mountains and is alive with
tavernas
and
bars. The ferry stops at the port of
Karavostasis where there are restaurants,
hotels, beaches and buses to
Chora and island beaches. The
Cycladic School
is located here offering classes in cooking,
folk dancing and
yoga and
Judith
Grodowitz will be teaching her workshop in the
Alexander Technique, "
Inspiration
in the Aegean". The dates are August 23-28, 2001. The class is held in the one-room
Neoclassical schoolhouse in
Chora, and accomodations are in local hotels.
The
Alexander Technique is a movement
re-education method, where people learn
to move with more
ease, support and
flexibility in their
daily activities.
She combines this exploration with imagery and stories from
Greek mythology
and with movement improvisation. For more info
