Some Jews actually
get pissed when you
wish them a Merry
Christmas.
some people actually get pissed when on the recieving end of a "god bless you" or "i'll pray for you". this is because they assume that the well-wisher is assuming that they believe in their god.
i don't believe in god in the christian/jewish/muslim way. when i was young and ignorant i would get annoyed that people jumped to the conclusion that my faith was the same as theirs. now, i know better, and i'm going to tell you why.
when someone says "god bless you" it means that they want good things for you from their god. it doesn't matter if you believe in him or not. they do. they want good things for you and that is how they believe it will happen. the same applies for someone praying for you. they want something for you, and they are asking their higher power to give it. the message conveyed is that they are wishing you well.
methinks the same also applies to christmas. i celebrate christmas. i will be celebrating on the 25th of december. i wish you a merry christmas, that means i wish that on the 25th of december you will be merry, damnit!
