The strangest thing about "Hats Off To (Roy) Harper" is that in the liner notes, there's no songwriting
credit. It's listed as "
Traditional", as though it were a folk song passed down through the ages.
"Hats Off To (Roy) Harper" is anything but traditional, and I doubt that folks way back used to sit around and play wacky blues-tinged songs about a guy who didn't exist yet, but would one day sing lead vocals on Pink Floyd's Have A Cigar.
